Airbus A380 lease offer considered by Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines has recently been offered the use of the Airbus A380 from several unknown leasing companies. This offer is to be decided by both Turkish Airlines, and its cargo company, Turkish Cargo, which is growing in capacity. This expansion has seen the cargo company increase its flight frequency on multiple routes, such as its route to Dubai, Algeria and Singapore.

The airline itself has so far denied confirming if they are to be taking up the offer to use the A380 model, as well as choosing to refrain from disclosing how many they may possibly lease. Turkish Airlines have so far said that “the leasing companies are making their offers to us and we are fixing our decisions considering those offers. Furthermore, there is no fixed board decision of Turkish Airlines yet concerning the lease of A380 aircrafts.”

The expansion in capacity for the airline has already seen a new storage area within Ataturk International Airport open. The storage area included a newly built 10,500 square metre area, able to contain 2 Unit Load Devices (ULD), along with providing a further 1,000 square metres for mail.
