The air and ocean freight branch of DHL, DHL Global Forwarding has recently announced the launch of  a new temperature-controlled air freight service between Brussels and Cincinatti, Ohio. The new service is intended to capture increased business from the pharmaceutical industry: "With this service we are further enhancing our dedication to the Life Sciences industry and the changing world of regulations within the industry sector.", said Ingo Alexander Rahn, EVP Global Head of Air Freight at DHL Global Forwarding.

The DHL Aviation Boeing 747-400 craft will be used for the new service, which will run six times a week between Europe and the States and, according to Rahn, it is the first of many new services of its kind.

Real-time tracking and temperature measurement data is accessible via dedicated web portal for the service, providing much valued visibility. The aircraft will have four temperature controlled zones which are monitored for the duration of the transit.
