Two European branches of worldwide courier TNT Express have recently won awards for customer service.
The carrier's customer care centre in Brussels was recognised as one of the best in Belgium on 23rd January with an award for "Contact Centre Accessibility" presented by The House of Contact Centres. On the same day, Customer Management Multimedia Competence (CMMC) awarded TNT Italy a special prize for its customer service app, TNT Italia.
The first award was a result of an anonymous customer services assessment that took place throughout the third quarter of 2013. The responsiveness of customer contact centres was tested, with each centre being contacted up to 30 times via telephone, email, live chat and social media. TNT ranked joint first out of 157 large companies across 22 industries. Rudi Berges, Customer Service Manager at TNT Benelux, commented that TNT's service standards require them to respond to 85% of calls within 10 seconds, indicating this as a contributing factor to winning the accolade.
The TNT Italia app, which allows smartphone users to track shipments and rearrange their deliveries via their mobile has been downloaded 50,000 since its launch in November 2011. Awards of such a nature are evidence of the increasing need for companies to engage with their customers on a wide variety of channels in order to ensure they are delivering high quality and accessible customer service.
Transglobal Express similiarly prides itself on its high level of customer services and sets a service standard of answering over 95% of phone calls within 5 rings. We recently extended our opening hours to 8am starts and to include Saturday mornings and we can also be contacted via email, live chat, Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.
