Teesport the first port to receive a feedership from the London Gateway

Teesport, in the Northeast of the UK, recently became the first port to be visited by a feedership from the recently opened London Gateway.

The vessel, Cetus J berthed at DP World’s London Gateway before a scheduled visit to Teesport on December 28th.

Teesport is situated less than a mile from the mouth of the River Tees. It handles over 5,000 vessels and 34 million tonnes of cargo a year. It is one of 11 PD Ports across the UK.

Geoff Lippitt, Business Development Director at PD Ports, commented: “We are really pleased to see that the first feeder vessel to sail from London Gateway made Teesport its first port of call. One of the strengths of Teesport is the range and coverage of feeder services and we will continue to build on this and expand in the future.”

A gateway to the North Sea, Teesport currently receives 20 vessel calls a week, connecting the port to the major hub ports of London.
